When should I take my child to the Dentist?

Usually Age 1. The American Academy of Pediatrics  as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child is seen after 6 months of starting of teeth eruption. When seen early your pediatric dentist can prevent dental problems and cavities before they ever occur.

What To Expect At My First Pediatric Dental Visit

At, Connect Family Dental, Our friendly and caring staff will welcome you and your child. Your child’s teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and receive an examination by our Dentist. On examination, if dental x-rays seems necessary, then we will take with digital sensors. Also we will review with you how to maintain oral hygiene and care for your child's teeth.  Our Goal is to keep your child teeth problem free for life!

Why should we fix Baby Teeth?

Primary, or "baby," teeth are as important as your permanent teeth. Those help child for not only speech, chew naturally but also keeping space and forming a guide for the permanent teeth when they are ready to erupt in oral cavity. Cavities and abscess in baby teeth can lead to permanent teeth damage or deformity and may cause significant space and alignment problems for permanent teeth which might need orthodontic treatment to correct. If you have any concerns about your child's teeth, do not hesitate to call us at 203-745-4244.

How can I prevent decay caused by nursing?

To prevent decay, nursing to child should be avoided during sleep. Avoid giving milk or anything other than water in bottle while sleeping. Learn brushing and flossing the proper way. Also brush and floss your child's teeth before putting to bed. Take your child to a dentist regularly to have teeth and gums cleaned and checked.

What are Dental Sealants?

Sealants are resin based filling material that seals and fills in the deep grooves on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. so it helps keep food particles out of those grooves and that way prevents cavities. The application of sealants is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect decay development on those surfaces of baby and permanent teeth for long time.
